Being American, is being courageous. As an immigrant, I choose to become American and give up everything I have known for 15 years in the streets of Dominican Republic. I became an American thanks to my courage. My corage to migrate and pursue a higher education in foreign country, the courage to speak in public with an accent, the courage to get involved in my community boards and committees and redefine who hold the power and influence on this spaces. I am Dominican first, American second, and immigrant always. Te Atreves? is an adult fable about two chickens that embark on journey to survive and find themselves. This is my journey and I dare to dare everyday.
