We Want to Participate in the Process

Poughkeepsie, NY

Wanting to participate in the process. A drive to be joyful and create a unique place in the world. I define American as the need to make your voice heard and advance the cause of equality.

I have lived in America for 31 years. I grew up here and had all of my major life events here. This is where I am from. This culture is mine, for better or for worse.

Being American is the ability to integrate your culture into the larger melting pot and create something unique. It means not hiding who you are and what you believe. I came out because I was sick of hiding such a large part of myself. I was tired of being afraid.

We are here, we want the same things all American’s want: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Let's Talk

It's time for a new conversation about immigration in America, and it starts with us.
