The real definition of American is the following: “relating to or characteristics of the United States or its inhabitants” or “ a native or citizen of the United States.” I disagree with the second definition in a way. I think that the definition of American is any person who lives or lived in the United States. The reason I say this is because there are immigrants in the U.S. who are not citizens of the United States but still live here and act as an American. I think any person who lives in the U.S. and respects the laws of the government should be considered an American.
