To be American it means to consider the United States your home and as such to contribute to the improvement of our country. It means to continuously engage in self-improvement and to be productive members of society to the best of our abilities. It also means to help lift others up with the understanding that if we help others succeed, we all succeed. DACA has allowed me to pursue my goal to help others succeed, by allowing me to continue my education beyond what I could have ever hoped for. After completing a masters degree in applied psychology, I am now a doctoral student in school psychology with the hope that I can help others reach their full potential just like I have had the opportunity to reach mine.
