Defining American is not as complex as some people want to make it seem. It does not have to do with your skin color, ethnic background, place of birth, religion and/or legal status. I’m fact, I believe it may come down to some very simple concepts. To be American is to believe in freedom for all, to be willing to fight for human rights and the most vulnerable, to love the diversity of people that we represent, to contribute to our communities, to stand against evil in the world, to be perserverant and hard worker and most importantly to love this country with a passion.
