I was born in Canada during WWII. My dad was in the US army and met my mom in Canada. They married in Canada. Both were born in the US though my mom grew up in Canada. I have voted ever since I turned 18.
I grew up in LA soon after the war, went to school, was in the Navy and worked for 36 years for the US government for 36 years. I am now retired and have a government pension and Social Security.
In spite of this I am undocumented and had to fight 4 years to get a US passport with the help of lawyers and their expense. But, a passport still doesn’t define me as an american.
