After I had finished a long day at high school I rushed to my first job and worked into the early evening. After that I went to my second job and worked into the late night. I would then wake up early and practice for the sports team I was on. I repeated this whole process of school, 2 jobs and practice until I questioned what I was? Am I a busy bee? Am I a machine that just keeps running? No I am an American. Because I have the freedom to better myself and work towards my goals. I grew up in Texas which is a very patriotic state, so not only did I learn patriotism for my state, but for my country too. An American is someone who is hardworking, who has freedom and who loves America so much that they strive to make our country a better place. Having the opportunity and ability to be my own person and work for my goals embodied the sense of being a working citizen in my community. Being an American is an important part of who I am.
