I was adopted when I was 7 months old. I did not make the choice to come here and yet on the other side of the world was the promise of a better life. I was part of the creation of a new family instead of a separation of a family. I can not even begin to grasp the pain of pursuing that promise and then to be treated like a criminal. I will not sit by and be complicit in the cruelness of separating children from their families. I can’t live like these families are of any less value than any other. God help us all.
