American: Anybody who believes that freedom is a fundamental right that shall not be infringed, and that all are equal, and that hard work is the key to success. My family for the most part came from Spain, none come with papers, they came before south Texas was even American soil. They settled northern Mexico and south Texas. My great grandfather brought his children to America before dying in a Mexican prison. Being American isn’t about having official papers, its about having the belief and ideals of freedom, liberty, hard work, an equal chance.
