I'm an undocumented student from Los Angeles who just graduated from high school. I was elected to represent my school district at school board meetings, and actually flew to Sacramento a couple weeks ago to meet with legislators. Senate majority leader Charles Calderon spoke about the dream act and his support of it. I wanted to let him know that I am part of those dreamers and that all we want in this country is to succeed and contribute to it, but was too afraid of the reaction I would get from fellow representatives and the superintendent. I will be attending community college this fall, and hope to transfer to UCLA to receive a degree in communications.
